Inclusivity in education is really simply good teaching.  It is good to have reminders as to what your already doing to help support all learners in the classroom.  Further, it can help give you more ideas as to what others do and to realize that inclusivity and differentiated education is "doable'.

Math is a subject area where many teachers cringe.  There seems to be a divide where either you understand math and are comfortable with dealing with students who struggle or you simply are not. The more I explore math skills, the more I realize that many teachers simply do not want to speak about their ability level as they feel they are the only ones.  In the age of high level math exploration, this can be very intimidating.  I have found the following documents helpful to my further understanding of my own math struggles along with what students present with, especially those in that need more assistance.

Technology and the use of it has become something that seems to be needed in every classroom or the teacher isn't with the times.  What I feel is happening more then that is that simply using technology to use it rather then making the use relevant.  Great teaching needs to be well thought out and planned.  This includes when using technology.  It shouldn't be just thrown in for to make others believe you are using technology in teaching and it shouldn't be used as a filler as well.  The following articles speak to this.

I have gained much more doing this additional qualification after two years of working within the position of Special Education Teacher.  I have found that my learning has been more relevant and that I now I have tools that can better inform my teaching practice not only with my colleagues but more importantly the children in the classroom.  I also completed an assignment on Fragile X Syndrome which I did not know anything about before the assignment.  I will include that project as well as I feel there are many students who may not be diagnosed with a disability as they don't fit any of the diagnosis.  The FXS could be a fit.  In the rural community which I work, exposure to this diagnosis is limited even though it appears to occur frequently in the population.
